This was an old post from my Tumblr. I was blessed with the opportunity to take the engagement photos for some very good friends of mine. It felt like an honor to immortalize their love for each other through photography.
When it comes to photoshoots, I still feel weird telling people what to do or how to pose. I prefer organic poses than something forced. If the subject can be candid, then I aim for that. Most of my shoots consist of me talking to the subject and trying to make them laugh. It’s really just a hangout, especially when I know the client.
For this though, I definitely needed to be somewhat more professional. I felt like I needed to take extra care into studying engagement shoots. These photos represent them, their love, as well as the invitations lolol.
All in all, it was a great experience. They turned out great. I feel like we definitely caught their relationship in these images. My only regret was the time slot reservation at the venue couldn’t align with golden hour. My favorite shots are the hands around the neck showcasing the ring, and the one where they’re walking towards the bridge.
