This is an old post from Tumblr detailing an engagement shoot last Winter.

Last weekend, I took some engagement photos for some friends of mine. I’m still amazed that people choose me to do this. ‪I always say this, but it’s a huge blessing to be able capture the moments in people’s lives. It makes me happy that my photos are making people happy.

This shoot was months in the making, and we were finally able to connect last week. The wedding process is so much, and I’m glad to have helped make things as convenient as possible for them. I actually cleared the whole weekend to make sure we can fit it in with caution to the weather. We originally opted for sunset, but it was a safer bet in the morning hours. I’m not sure why I didn’t recommend it earlier. I prefer sunrise because there’s less people, especially in public areas.

I noticed I was more comfortable in this shoot. It felt like I was actually doing a little more direction, and it wasn’t awkward. Although, I’ll always feel awkward telling people to kiss (*insert “Can I Go Now?” meme*). They were great and entrusted me to get everything perfect. I only used a 50mm on my EOS M. It’s my favorite portrait lens. There’s just something about the DOF it’s able to create. Here’s some of my favorites from the shoot:
