This is an old post from my Tumblr detailing a proposal shoot I did last year.

I was actually pretty nervous for this shoot coming in. You only have once chance to get the shot before the moment passes. Granted, you can ask the couple if they’d like to do posed shots afterwords. Which I ended up doing anyway, but it doesn’t have the same magnitude as the moment or moments. They won’t equate to the shot.

Spoiler alert: I got the shot we (the groom and I) were looking for:

Everything here works. The Ferris wheel framing the bride-to-be. Both subjects aligned along the thirds. All the emotion. It was perfect. If I had to be nitpick, the only thing I wish was the grooms head to be tilted up towards her. I did get it in another shot, but it blocked the Ferris wheel.

Aside from this, we did do some poses afterwords. It was a great first proposal shoot, and it’s even better because I’m friends with them. I’m very blessed to be a part of these special moments. Take a look at a few from the shoot below!
