This is a part of a series titled Self-Acceptance where I explain the process of self-portraits I have taken which started during lockdown. It explores themes of self-confidence, working with what you have, and accepting myself (duh).

This set of photos was taken in June. It was around Daylight Savings time and it was nice being able to go outside after 7PM to watch the sunset. I realized how nice the lighting was and decided to set up my tripod for some practice.

With the start of summer, I was reminiscing beach life as we were stuck in quarantine. Keeping that in mind, I wanted it to feel like that's where I was. The warm, faded tones were meant to emulate watching the ocean during sunset.

Again, you can see me trying to model myself without looking at the camera. I never published these on instagram due to my self-confidence. Now that I'm typing the description, I really like how this set turned out. Does it look like I'm at a beach house?

Bonus photo: I took this inside the house. The sun was almost gone, but the lighting through our window was soft enough to be able to capture it. If I photoshopped a sandy beach in the background, that might've made it more convincing.

You can't beat golden hour.
