This is a part of a series titled Self-Acceptance where I explain the process of self-portraits I have taken which started during lockdown. It explores themes of self-confidence, working with what you have, and accepting myself (duh).
This set was taken because I was having a great hair day back in July. There was nothing to inspire it. No creative process. I always liked taking pictures with my EOS M over my iPhone to see how I really look like. My hair had gotten so long that I was able to start parting it and styling it in different ways. Even though I felt good about myself, I didn't end up posting this on social media. I was still shy to be doing this type of thing.
If I had to put something about photography into this, It was playing with the lighting and my angles. Lighting affects how the subject looks. I used 3 different angles to see how the light would hit my face and affect the photo.
